In 1981, Cathy Daub, a birthing educator in New Jersey, had the idea for BirthWorks. Pregnant women were being urged to have cesarean deliveries at the time, but Cathy was a firm believer in giving birth in the least risky method possible. Because she believed that all women have the ability to give birth, BirthWorks Philosophy and her early
seminars developed from modest seeds into much more. Cathy's enthusiasm for birth continues to grow, especially in light of recent primal health research, which shows that what newborns experience from conception to one year has an impact on their health and wellness as adults. Cathy is always looking for fresh methods to explain and promote both the holistic, spiritual understanding of birth and the research that backs it up. She considers birth to be a union of mind, body, and soul, and she has dedicated her life to assisting mothers and children in reaching their full human potential.
