Catherine Mountjoy is the Chief Operating Officer of 1693 Management Company at William & Mary Foundation. She previously worked as a Partner on Altius’ global Investment Team. Ms. Mountjoy joined Altius in 2004 and is a member of Altius’ Investment Committee. She began working in Private Markets in 2000.
Ms. Mountjoy focuses on Altius’
efforts in North American private equity investing, with an emphasis on the buyout sector. She has additional experience with other private equity sectors and geographies, including co-investments, credit, secondaries, energy, timber, infrastructure, emerging managers, and emerging markets. During her tenure at Altius, Ms. Mountjoy has led or co-led the investment process for more than 50 direct primary and secondary fund investments, as well as co-investments, and currently holds advisory board seats for nine GPs.
Ms. Mountjoy has directed several extensive research projects on various private equity sectors including small market buyout, lower mid-market buyout, upper mid-market buyout, large/mega market buyout, private energy, private timber, private infrastructure, Latin America, emerging markets, and distressed debt. In addition, she leads emerging manager research for the firm and has helped several of Altius’ clients develop emerging manager programs.
Prior to joining Altius, Ms. Mountjoy was an Investment Banking Analyst at Raymond James & Associates, and at Wachovia Securities.
Ms. Mountjoy has a BA (Magna Cum Laude) in Economics from Emory University. Ms. Mountjoy will graduate in 2016 with an MBA from the University of Virginia.
