Catherine Dupéré joined BDC in 2012 as Consultant, Strategic Investments and Initiatives.
Prior to joining BDC, Catherine worked in technology investment for Novacap, a private equity fund, and XPND Capital, a growth capital fund. Catherine started her professional career as a banking lawyer for Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, where she advised
large banks and investments funds on various financing transactions. Concurrently, she had the opportunity to gain some direct investment experience via her family office, investing in Canadian companies such as heat pump manufacturer Nirvana and Scandinavian-style spa Strom.
Catherine further developed her interest in early stage investment during her MBA, when she represented Oxford University in the international Venture Capital Investment Competition and won a second place. She also wrote her master's thesis on the evolution and future of the venture capital ecosystem.
In 2011, Catherine co-founded Lionne, an ethical clothing company in London, UK. Catherine holds a law degree from Université de Sherbrooke and an MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
