Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Carly ventured east for college to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where she double majored in International Relations and Spanish. After graduating magna cum laude, Carly headed back home to the warm weather and attended law school at the University of Southern California. (Fight on!)
After law
school, Carly joined Sidley Austin LLP, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the United States, where she was a litigator for over five years. She also practiced at an elite boutique law firm in Century City.
In 2015, Carly left the practice of law to challenge herself in a more entrepreneurial way. She joined one of the largest legal recruiting companies in the United States where she learned the business of legal recruiting. Inspired by her legal background and the recruiting industry, Carly set out to improve the process of matching highly qualified and specialized people with career opportunities. In 2017, Carly started De Novo, a career marketplace that uses data to help lawyers find the right jobs for them while also providing lawyers with expert assistance when it is desired.
