Civil engineer and Diplom-Ingenieur PUC of Technishe Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany. He has focused his professional and academic career in the field of Structural Engineering, especially in seismic design and experimental analysis of structures.
Parallel to his career in SERVE, he is a professor and researcher at the Department of Structural
and Geotechnical Engineering School of Engineering of the PUC, academic unit where he was Dean (1975-1978) and Director of the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.
Over the past 30 years, he has been responsible for several Fondecyt projects for structural damage analysis and recovery, as well as innovative for vibration reduction in structures systems, research that marked the beginning of MANS Investigator.
In the scientific field, among papers and academic papers, he has more than 70 publications, both nationally and internationally, many of them relating to structural behavior in relation to seismic condition. Ismael Valdes Valdes Prize of the Institute of Engineers of Chile.
