Toal served as director of segment marketing and director of strategic business development at Convex Computer Corporation. When Convex merged with HP in 1995, he assumed the lead marketing role.
Toal was the CEO and a founder of a startup, Talon Technology Corporation, which sold communications and computer equipment for rugged environments.
Toal has a bachelor's of science in electrical engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.
