Bruce has been investing in the energy and industrial sector since 1994 and is focused primarily on later stage buyout transactions. Prior to joining NGP ETP in 2009, Bruce worked for Allied Capital Corporation, where he led or co-led the firm’s energy investing activities. Bruce also held positions with middle market private equity firms Saw Mill
Capital and JP Morgan Capital. Bruce began his career in strategy consulting and with Bechtel Enterprises, the finance and investment arm of the global energy engineering and construction firm.
Bruce holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and an AB in East Asian Studies from Harvard College. Bruce is the President of the Wharton Alumni Executive Board and Co-Chairman of Wharton Private Equity Partners. Bruce is a board member of Living Earth and Penn Power Group, a board observer of GeoDigital and a former board member of Managed Pressure Operations.
