Brian previously served for more than 12 years in municipal government, holding senior leadership roles in two major American cities. In a large Midwestern city, he served as City Manager and helped launch and facilitate over $5 billion in redevelopment projects over five years. This period reflected substantial growth across the city. He also supported sustainability initiatives, including planting 10,000 trees over three years and pursuing one of the largest solar array developments in the United States, demonstrating a steady commitment to environmental responsibility.

Brian Platt also served in a major East Coast city, first as Chief Innovation Officer and later as Business Administrator and City Manager. During his tenure, the city reached record levels of housing construction, comparable to those in Manhattan. He worked to strengthen the delivery of core services, including expanding street resurfacing and improving snow removal. In addition, he helped direct new resources to low-income families and individuals experiencing homelessness, maintaining a focus on practical improvements that could improve daily life for residents.

Platt began his professional career in management consulting at a global firm, where he gained experience in strategy and operations. He later served as a kindergarten teacher through a national education program, reflecting an early commitment to service. Beyond his formal roles, he volunteered for ten years as a firefighter in his hometown and served as an emergency medical responder in one of the cities where he worked. These experiences contributed to his grounded leadership approach and reinforced his dedication to community service.

Brian Platt has received recognition for leadership, academic achievement, and public service. He was named to national lists highlighting local government leadership and innovation over multiple years, and he was honored for his contributions to inclusion and diversity. He co-authored a publication on supervisory practices for a professional management association and has served as an instructor for an urban innovation program. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from a university in Georgia and a Master’s in Public Administration from a university in New York.
