Brechtje Kalksma - van Lith holds a Masters in Public Administration and an Advanced Master in Development Studies. When you start your career in the corporate sector (KPMG), soon found his true passion in international development, which has been working for the past 15 years.
Before joining Plan International Brechtje held positions as a
consultant, facilitator, Program Manager and Country Director in a number of human rights organizations and development, among which are Amnesty International and War Child Holland.
His work has continually focused on programming for the fulfillment of children's rights and welfare. In 2007 and 2008 he published articles and co-author of psychosocial interventions for children affected by war.
Brechtje has worked and lived in South Africa, Tanzania, Eritrea, Colombia and Sierra Leone. In the last three years has been Country Director of Plan Dominican Republic.
