Mr. Rushby Rushby retired as Chief Technology Officer and VP R&D of Christie Digital Systems in 2011. Christie is a global leader in projection and electronic display products and has the world’s largest installed base of digital cinema projection systems.
As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Rushby guided the development and execution of
Christie’s technology roadmap to help enable Christie’s rapid expansion. As VP of R&D, he led the planning and exploration of new technologies. Recently, Mr. Rushby co-invented Christie MicroTiles™, an award-winning modular digital display technology designed for digital-out-of-home (DOOH), architecture, event production and command-and-control environments. More recently, he led Christie’s research into the use of laser technology for advanced projection systems. Mr. Rushby joined Christie from Delphax Systems (now called Delphax Technologies Inc.), a manufacturer of ultra-high speed digital print production systems, where he was Vice-President of Engineering.
He is also involved with several business incubator and accelerator initiatives including the University of Waterloo REAP program and the Communitech Hyperdrive accelerator.
Mr. Rushby holds a B.A.Sc (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and a M.Eng (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He is a registered professional engineer (P. Eng.) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario. Mr. Rushby has six patents with one more filed.
