Bob Quillin is Co-founder & CEO of ControlTheory, a leading next generation observability platform designed to elevate observability to controllability. Organizations are frustrated with observability today and are looking for ways to optimize value, efficiency, and costs. The ControlTheory OpenTelemetry control plane accelerates the adoption
of open observability by simplifying OpenTelemetry deployment to not only balance observability cost with utility, but also unlock previously hidden business KPIs and custom metrics, more accurately resolve issues, and lead engineering, platform, and DevOps teams to an open and controlled observability future.
Previously he was Co-founder, CEO of StackEngine which was acquired by Oracle Cloud to develop their Kubernetes and cloud native services. As Vice President of Developer Relations at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), he led CNCF engagement and sponsorship, OCI developer relations, advocacy, engagement, and lighthouse adoption. Bob has focused his career on applying automation to simplify complex cloud, IT, and developer challenges. He joined Oracle as part of its 2015 acquisition of StackEngine, an early container-native pioneer building services and platforms designed to help developers and DevOps teams build, orchestrate, and scale enterprise-grade container apps, where he was cofounder and CEO. Previously, Bob was CEO of Austin-based cloud monitoring SaaS startup CopperEgg (acquired by IDERA in 2013) and held executive and startup leadership roles at nLayers, EMC, and VMware.
