Bin Li is a Senior VP Product Development at Wildcat Discovery Technologies.
Dr. Li has over 20 years of research experience in inorganic material synthesis and characterization, including more than five years in high throughput research and development focused on lithium ion battery materials.
While at Wildcat, Dr. Li led the research team that
developed a series of high voltage electrolyte additives and developed a new high voltage cathode material with excellent cycle life and significantly higher gravimetric energy density. Upon joining Wildcat in 2007, Dr. Li was jointly responsible for the development of Wildcat’s proprietary high-throughput battery workflow, including unique electrochemical instruments, mills, and formulation processes.
Prior to joining Wildcat in 2007, Dr. Li was an assistant scientist at Ames Laboratories, a U.S. Department of Energy research facility run by Iowa State University, where he discovered more than 60 new intermetallic compounds. Dr. Li received his Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China, where his research focused on synthesis and morphology of nanomaterial.
Dr. Li also holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from Hefei University of Technology in China. Dr. Li has authored 65 publications and patents and has been a full member of the Sigma XI Society (USA) since 2002.
