Billy Jack "B.J." Stanbery has an illustrious career spanning more than 40 years in the solarindustry. He is an expert in the business and science of photovoltaics (PV) and especially CIGS.Before joining Siva Power, Stanbery was the founder and CEO of HelioVolt where he developedand manufactured CIGS thin-film PV. Prior to founding
HelioVolt, Stanbery managed Boeing'sterrestrial PV program. During that 17-year tenure at Boeing his team manufactured anddeployed PV for spacecraft and in 1990 achieved the world record in multi-junction thin-film PVconversion efficiency. Stanbery completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the Universityof Florida, having previously obtained an M.S. in Physics from the University of Washington andB.S. in both Physics and Mathematics from the University of Texas. Stanbery currently serveson the Board of the DuraMAT Consortium, having previously served on the Board of the TexasRenewable Energy Association and as Chairman of the Board for the Texas Solar EnergyIndustry Association. He is presently a member of the Strategic Advisory Board and ChiefScience Officer at Siva Power.
