Bill has been investing in Eastern Europe since 1992. He joined EBRD as part of the Hungary and later telecoms teams just as the region was opening. He then moved to Baring Private Equity Partners (BPEP) as a partner to raise and invest the €86m Baring Central European Fund (BCEF). In 2004, he and his partners purchased the Central European
business from BPEP, renaming it Baring Corilius Private Equity. The business was sold to SGAM in 2005 when he took over direct responsibility for the Eastern European investment process and its €156m fund.
