Bill Tait is the E-commerce Director at Richline Group. Bill Tait has been instrumental in advancing internet commerce for more than a decade.
In 1995, Bill co-founded Mercantec, Inc. and released SoftCart -- the first commercial Internet shopping cart technology. Mercantec experienced tremendous growth and today has expanded into delivering a
wide range of innovative technology solutions to thousands of small businesses around the world.
In 1994, Bill developed and operated The Upscale Wholesale Shop, one of the earliest Web-based storefronts (before Amazon and eBay!). Upscale quickly attracted the attention of many other merchants, which was the catalyst for creating Mercantec. Prior to Upscale, Bill co-founded Target Search Inc., a successful technology consulting and search firm. He began his career in sales at Silvon Software Inc.
Bill has done extensive public speaking and has been quoted in numerous publications on the topic of internet commerce, including USA Today, The Washington Post, Internet Retailer, and many others. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, 1986.
