Beth has been involved in energy and risk reduction workshops and assessments with OI for three years. She has a multidisciplinary knowledge of buildings, and has worked with operations teams to understand their use of energy in the data centre. Beth completed a PhD on the sustainability of data centres in 2013, which draws together the
environmental impact from energy consumption and material extraction in data centres.
She has also designed a software tool to enable design engineers to engage in the optimisation of life cycle impacts, and has presented on the topic at a number of industry conferences. She has worked as a structural engineer on a wide variety of projects, from the early stages of concept design through to completion on site, and has experience in managing teams and business development.
