Bert Abrams, Senior Advisor and a Managing Director, is involved in strategic matters relating to the VSS Funds and also works with the Firm’s professionals and outside counsel in structuring, negotiating and completing transactions for the Funds. In addition, Mr. Abrams is involved in many of the significant matters relating to the day-to day
activities of the Firm.
Mr. Abrams was previously a senior partner in the law firm of Proskauer Rose LLP, where he was a member and former co-chair of the firm’s corporate department and concentrated on transactions involving the acquisition, disposition and financing of companies engaged in print and electronic publishing, information, media and communications, and related businesses. Prior to joining VSS in November 2005, Mr. Abrams served as counsel to VSS and represented VSS IV and its three predecessor funds in most of their major transactions. At Proskauer, Mr. Abrams also represented a large number of other substantial entities engaged in various aspects of the publishing, media and communications industries.
Mr. Abrams earned his LL.B degree from New York University School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review. He also holds an LL.M. degree from New York University School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Connecticut.
