Benny’s experience in the shipbuilding industry spans decades. He began working as a trainee at the former Rockport Yacht Supply Company (RYSCO) in Blountstown, FL in the early 70’s. He since has worked as a first-class shipfitter at the Sherman Shipyard in Panama City, FL when he left to join Eastern Shipbuilding Group in 1982.
Benny has held
various shipbuilding positions and titles during his time at Eastern Shipbuilding Group and has worked his way up through the ranks of Foreman, Superintendent, and Production Manager; he was recently promoted to the title of General Manager of our Allanton Facility in 2012, where he is in charge of approximately 900+ employees, crafts and daily production operations along with Eastern’s steel production facility supporting both shipyards.
