Bennett S. Graebner is a film and television producer and screenwriter who spent 17 years as executive producer on ABC's The Bachelor franchise, including The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and multiple spin-offs. Born in Buffalo, New York, he now resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife and two children, where he has transitioned from
day-to-day production to focus on screenwriting and developing original scripted content. His productions have been recognized with awards including the Teen Choice Awards, BMI Film & TV Awards, and ASCAP Film and Television Awards. The shows are perennial top ratings performers that enjoy particular success in the coveted 18-34 demographic, continuing to push the bounds of longevity in the competitive world of television. Graebner's career began in various production roles including camera and electrical departments, working as production assistant, best boy grip, and cinematographer. This diverse experience provided comprehensive understanding of television production from multiple perspectives before advancing to executive producer positions. He attended Vassar College for his undergraduate degree, studying English and graduating Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation, he received his MFA from USC's renowned School of Cinematic Arts, where he collaborated with film students on original projects and developed his entertainment industry expertise. Prior to joining The Bachelor franchise, Graebner worked as a screenwriter, developing projects with major production companies including Paula Wagner Productions and Disney Studios. After writing 15+ original screenplays, he transitioned to reality television production, where he applied narrative structure and storytelling principles to unscripted content. His work on The Bachelor required developing dramatic elements from real-life events rather than scripted storylines, managing complex international productions while overseeing casting, location coordination, and post-production across multiple series simultaneously. Now returning to his original passion, Graebner applies his unique blend of scripted and unscripted storytelling experience to screenwriting. His latest romantic comedy screenplay draws on nearly two decades of experience in television production and character development. He continues to serve as creative consultant for The Bachelor franchise while pursuing new opportunities in original content development and feature film projects.
