Porter brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the GPSI CEO position including over 30 years in the golf industry, both as a professional tour player and as a golf course owner and operator.
In 1997 Porter founded Golf Academies Ltd in the UK. The company marketed, distributed and financed a number of golf technology products across
Europe, Asia and Africa including GPS systems. Golf Academies became the exclusive European distributor for GPSI in 2004 and was acquired by the company in 2007.
Porter was appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer of GPSI in 2008, leading the company through a reorganization in 2009 and spearheading the consolidation of the entire GPS golf industry though the acquisition of several GPS golf companies, resulting in the company achieving a 90% market share.
