Ben is an Academy Award-winning creative technologist. He was previously the North American Head of Software for MPC Film, one of the world’s largest visual effects studios.
During his career, Ben has worked at the cutting edge of cinematic software development, with pioneering work across many areas of visual effects production, including
multi-site digital asset management, crowd simulation and physics.
His work on Kali, a tool for creating realistic cinematic destruction, helped to introduce new mathematical methods to the visual effects community and was awarded an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Scientific Achievement Award (a “sci-tech oscar”) for “setting a new reference point for believable on-screen destruction.”
