Alfred BeichunGu is the president and CEO of Mecox Lane, a Chinese mail order company that offers fashion, home, beauty, healthcare, and pet products. He is the thought leader who formulates strategies for the company, since its establishment in 2001.
Prior to Mecox Lane, Gu was employed as a marketing director at Shanghai Bertelsmann Culture
Industry Co. Ltd, a company to which he joined as a direct marketer in 1995. During his tenure that lasted till 2001, Gu enabled the increase in membership of the Bertelsmann Book Club to over 1 million members. He also worked at the Shanghai office of American Express as a sales manager from 1993 to 1995.
With over 15 years of experience in the sales and marketing field, Gu was ranked among the top 25 “Influential Chinese in Global Chinese” by the Chinese edition of Forbes magazine in 2010.
Gu graduated from Shanghai University in 1990.
