Dr. Yang is recognized as an expert in preclinical models of disease, with a demonstrated record of successful and productive research. Prior to founding Immortagen, Dr. Yang served as the Research Director in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa, and he helped to establish one of the largest maternal and fetal
tissue repositories in the country. In addition, he served for 10 years as the Director of the Gene Targeting Core Facility at the University of Iowa, which specialized in generating preclinical models of human diseases, including cancer. He received his Ph.D. under Dr. Oliver Smithies, a Nobel Prize winner.
