Ashley George started his career as a Chemist, but quickly found out that his practical skills would not carrier him through his career. Therefore he moved to progress a Computational Chemistry PhD at the Royal Institution within the petrochemical industry. During his Life Science Pharma career, he has worked for Ciba Geigy, SmithKline Beecham,
startup Biotech which floated to become a publically traded company, then GlaxoWellcome and is now with GlaxoSmithKline. Ashley has held various roles initially, as the Director of the Chemistry Domain and then a Discovery wide role as Director of the Strategic IT portfolio for GSK Discovery. Ashley is now Global Head of the GSK wide - Centre of Excellence for Innovation and Consumerisation and as such, is charged with helping Business Units across all of GSK and IT transform via the exploitation of novel technology for business transformation. This has led to an established and highly credible track record for the strategic yet pragmatic delivery of global business process transformations that delivers value both within and externally. This IT-Lite organisation delivers innovative business services that for example, reaching 25,000+ unique monthly GSK users across 200+ geolocations through to complete Mobile App lifecycle service models within both the global enterprise & direct to consumer facing mobile apps. These transformations are across many geographical locations - Europe, Asia, Americas, Africa & LATAM. This work has been internationally recognised by peer reviewed industry awards, such as Corporate IT Forum, Real IT & Ignite awards, these include runner up for IT project of the Year.
