Dr. Pober has lectured throughout the world on topics ranging from early childhood education, the media, to areas of international and national policy and industry self-regulation. Dr. Pober has been praised by advocacy groups, governments and industry leaders around the world for creating the most comprehensive media rating system in the U.S. and
parts of Europe for all interactive software, videogames, and internet sites. With a doctorate in Educational Psychology and Organizational Development and two masters’ degrees, Dr. Pober has spent over twenty five years in the areas of gifted and talented and early childhood education prior to his work in industry self-regulation.
He is a recognized authority in the Structure of the Intellect model for intelligence training as well as having developed multi-media and gifted education programs for cultural institutions throughout New York City. He has recently completed a series of introductory commentaries for the new Classic Starts series for Sterling Publishing. Dr. Pober is the founder of the Center for Social Responsibility and Innovation in the Digital Age.
Besides active participation in private and government meetings as the American Associate to the European Advertising Standards Alliance, Dr. Pober acts as consultant to various media outlets in the areas of self-regulation and media compliance issues. Dr. Pober serves on the advisory boards of several academic and non-profit institutions. He is currently serving as senior fellow for the Center for the Digital Future based at USC.
Most recently he has been part of the Cartoon Network’s Pre-School Launch, educational consultant to Disney’s Hannah Montana, The Replacements and the Emperor’s New Groove, Studio One Networks, CBS Television, and the former Chief Educational Advisor to the first channel dedicated to babies- Baby First Television.
