The Broncos and the Giants of the NFL soon recognized his exceptional talent, leading him to a five-season career that boasted remarkable feats, such as a record-setting 81-yard touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys.

Arthur Marshall grew up in rural Richmond County, Georgia, where he attended the largest high school, Hephzibah High School. He was an accomplished athlete and a four-sport letterman, earning recognition as the USA Today High School Athlete of the Year for Georgia during his senior year. His outstanding performance on the football field led to the retirement of his high school football number. After graduation, Marshall went on to attend the prestigious University of Georgia located in Athens, Georgia. He received a business administration degree and majored in real estate. During his time in college, Marshall also distinguished himself as a skilled football player, continuing to excel in the sport at a high level.

In the mid-1980s, the University of Georgia was among a select few institutions offering a real estate major, further highlighting Marshall's excellent foresight and forward-thinking. Today, the university remains a flagship institution of the University System of Georgia, renowned for its exceptional course offerings and graduates. With his impressive academic background and football skills, he was ultimately signed by the NFL's Denver Broncos right after he graduated from the University of Georgia.
