Mr. Arpesh Mehta served as a Senior Research Associate of Ceregene. Mr. Mehta is playing an integral role in the development and IND submission for an Alzheimer’s disease therapeutic, and worked on the preclinical development of a gene therapy product in clinical trials.
Mr. Mehta worked on numerous investments in the clean technology and
biotechnology sectors, being involved with all stages of the investment process from evaluating investment prospects to board governance. Mr. Mehta's cleantech investment involvement includes Virent, EcoSynthetix, Aspectrics (acquired by Guided Wave), BrightSource Energy, and Sindicatum Renewable Resources. Prior to Black River, Mr. Mehta held various R&D and marketing positions in the biotech industry.
He worked as a staff researcher at the Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he published numerous papers on the characterization of potential drug targets and has presented his research at international conferences. In addition, Mr. Mehta was a summer marketing intern at Genentech. His experience spans multiple functions within life science. He serves as a Director at Cargill Ventures and Black River Asset Management. He serves as a Director of Prometheus Energy Company. He serves as Observer of Alvine Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
He received an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University, an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from UCLA, and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.
