Dr. Degenhardt is board certified in Family Medicine with further certification in medical acupuncture. His training and practice couple traditional medicine with tested and effective alternative therapies. This allows him to deeply and fully understand the nature of a patients’ illnesses and employ out-of-the-box thinking to establish effective,
comprehensive and personalized treatment plans.
He has practiced medicine internationally, including tropical medicine in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Chinese medicine in Guangxi, China; and family medicine/natural healing at the Zuni Indian Reservation in New Mexico. Dr. Degenhardt has also worked extensively with the diverse cultural communities of NYC, including the Japanese and Chinese communities (Dr. Degenhardt is fluent in both Japanese and Mandarin), and Manhattan’s underserved communities in the Lower East Side and Chinatown.
