A proven entrepreneur with a diverse and compelling background; Ankur started his professional career working under the endorsement of the United Nations (UNHCR) and H. H. the Dalai Lama, traveling to places such as Kosovo and Rwanda. A double scholar at one of the Inns of Court, Ankur was subsequently called to the Bar and practised at a leading criminal chambers in London, leaving the Bar in 2007. That year he started Techlightenment, a business focused on products and services in social technology; growing the business rapidly to becoming the global leader in its space. Techlightenment was acquired by Experian Plc. in January 2011. Ankur has been regularly featured in the mainstream press, both in the UK and internationally and is a regular speaker at events, recently promoting UK business on a panel in Los Angeles with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Ankur is currently both angel investing and actively working on new projects.
