Andy Collison has been an Information Technology specialist supporting the United States Marine Corps’ Organizational Messaging Service for the past 16 years. Prior to this, he served in the United States Marine Corps on active duty for 14 years. Typical of Marine Corps service, his 14 years required him to not only work as an IT specialist, but

also as a Marksmanship Coach, Cook, Recruiter, and even was a member of the Marine Corps’ Greco-Roman Wrestling Team.

Andy is currently the Telos representative to the Area Control Center supporting the Organizational Messaging Service (OMS) at Camp Lejeune NC. This system provides official messaging for more than 8500 users spread throughout the eastern United States, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. In addition to managing the Automated Message Handling System for Telos, his responsibilities include the maintaining of a HCI environment which supports Organizational Messaging, and serves as an engineer for the Organizational Messaging Program at Marine Corps Systems Command.

His unique experiences have given him a reputation of being a “Jack of All Trades”, having engineered multiple solutions to support the unique demands and financial constraints of the Marine Corps. Most recently, he engineered and implemented a Hyper-Converged environment to support OMS for the east and west Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Information Technology (IT) Support Centers. His contributions have repeatedly resulted in service-wide improvements to Marine Corps Communications.
