He is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer of Al Nahdha Investment.
Prior to this Amit was the Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Capital Group, a private institutional investment house. ADCG has investments across various asset classes, industries and geographies.
ADCG manages in-house
well-diversified portfolios in global listed equities, fixed income and alternative investments. In addition ADCG has private equity investments and real estate spreading across many sectors.
Amit represented ADCG as a Board member in a number of its private equity investments.
ADCG is also focused on building its hospitality, healthcare & retail platforms.
Amit concentrates on building shareholder value and has demonstrated this through his leadership at ADCG, FGB, Aseel Finance, Dubai First, Citibank, Pepsi & Brooke Bond.
In an earlier role Amit was a Senior Executive Vice President & key member of the leadership team at First Gulf Bank. He was a key contributor in the transformation of FGB from a BB+ rated bank making US$ 13 Mn in 2000 to an A+ rated bank making US$ 1.3 Bn in 2013. FGB had Total Assets of US$ 53 Bn and Total Shareholder Equity of US$ 8 Bn in 2013.
Amit built the Consumer Bank at FGB from scratch. He led the development of strategy, building the infrastructure, technology architecture, operations platform, hiring & development of in house and outsourced resources, creation of innovative products and built robust credit and collections policies and culture.
The Consumer Bank offers a diverse range of products from vanilla transaction accounts to credit cards, loans, deposit, small business, bancassurance & investment products meeting the needs of both the mass market and Wealth segments.
The Consumer Bank generated Net Profit of US$ 508 Mn in 2013.
