Amiel Gross is Vice President and Head of Legal at the Center for Breakthrough Medicines. Ms. Gross manages IP matters, contracts, licensing, and partnership and sponsored research deals. As CBM makes hundreds of new hires, he also manages compliance and regulatory issues. Further, Gross has used his department to refine the company's business
operations, providing greater structure and eliminating risks in order to boost the productivity of scientists.
At CFBM, Mr. Gross brings over 20 years of legal experience. He previously served as in-house counsel for US subsidiaries of a large global company and outside counsel at Dentons US LLP and Orrick LLP in New York.
Despite not being a scientist, Gross describes himself as a "naturally curious" lawyer who is passionate about biotech, pharmaceuticals, rare diseases, and helping patients. He graduated with high honors from Southwestern University in 1996 with a degree in liberal arts, competing as an All-American baseball player there. Later, he earned his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law on an NCAA scholarship.
