Born and raised in Chicago to two Greek immigrant parents, Alex Pissios has personally witnessed over the years the impact that someone can have on their community. He saw it all throughout his childhood as neighbors banded together to help one another and to improve each other's lives. It's a mantra that he carried with him into his
career in real estate in the early 2000s, too. After graduating from college, Alex Pissios realized that he had a passion fo real estate. It wasn't just to generate the highest possible return for himself, no - he wanted to strategically invest in areas around the United Center to help breathe new life into these communities. That's exactly what he did until 2008, when the economic downturn forced him to consider other career opportunities. At that time, Alex Pissios teamed with a family member to found Cinespace Chicago Film Studios - an extension in the United States of his Uncle's Cinespace Studios based in Toronto, Canada. Almost immediately, Cinespace was able to hit the ground running, creating countless production jobs in Chicago and bringing many high profile films and television shows to the area. In addition to major blockbuster films like "Transformers" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Cinespace was also the home to many HBO and Netflix productions as well. It also assisted in the production of many famous shows that actually take place in the Chicago area, including but not limited to "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med" and "Chicago PD." It has been estimated that Cinespace and Alex Pissios were responsible for the creation of more than 15,000 jobs while also infusing billions of dollars of revenue into the city and state. Despite the fact that Cinespace was sold in 2021 for a staggering $1 billion and Alex Pissios is officially no longer involved, the mark that he left on the production industry and the city itself will remain for decades. In addition to his lifelong career as an entrepreneur, Alex Pissios has also become known for his work with dozens of charity organizations throughout Chicago. On a regular basis he does everything from volunteering with school kids in North Lawndale to acting as a "Caregiver for a Day" with the Sinai Health System. He has also been a "Luminary" for SOS Children's Villages Illinois in their efforts to promote foster care awareness with fellow industry professionals like Christian Bale and Adam McKay.
