Aletha Ling is the executive director of Fundamo. She is also the SVP operations emerging markets digital at Visa Cape Town.
Aletha Ling joined Fundamo as Chief Operating Officer in 2005 to pursue the phenomenal opportunity in the mobile financial services market. Aletha has been instrumental in establishing Fundamo as one of the largest
specialist mobile financial services company in the world.
Aletha has more than thirty years of experience in the IT industry and a wealth of expertise in technology, sales, marketing and management. During her career Aletha has been an entrepreneur, a successful executive in one of the largest companies in the world, and safely navigated a listed company through its most turbulent years.
Prior to joining Fundamo, Aletha built a successful career at IBM, heading up the company's Software Business. In 1993 she left IBM to pursue her passion for entrepreneurship.
In the following years, Aletha established herself as a 'serial innovator', founding, nurturing and selling a number of ventures in various industries such as healthcare, financial services and presentation services. Innovative software company, Software Futures, was particularly successful and was sold to a conglomerate at the height of the dot.com boom. Aletha has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Futureworld, a global business think tank.
