Alberto Roca PhD is the founder of EquitableTech.org -- a new tech diversity project of his DiverseScholar non-profit that is examining equity in the tech industry and is also teaching minority computer science students about open source software skills. EquitableTech is complementary to Alberto's long-standing MinorityPostdoc.org S.T.E.M.

faculty diversity project. He's strategizing that EquitableTech students will be future minority computer science professors. Alberto's expertise has led to speaking engagements at the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, the Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing, and the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). In recognition of his achievements, Alberto has received Presidential Service Awards from both the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science as well as the American Association for Access, Equity, & Diversity. Alberto also won the top NCWIT Flash Tank prize for his pitch on the topic of diversity in tech journalism.
