Alan Banks is a graduate Engineer and Chartered Accountant. He has more than 30 years of experience in financial management, equity research, strategy consulting, and corporate finance and has been CEO and/or founder of 5 successful companies in online publishing, equity research, low carbon technology development, materials recycling and
renewable energy.
Alan is an acknowledged expert on low carbon technologies and renewable energy and was a Founder Signatory of the Institutional Investor Network on Climate Change, the forerunner to the Global Carbon Disclosure Project. He was also invited to be a Founder member of the United Nations Global Energy Security Council. He has advised Senator Hilary Clinton and the Governors of various US States on environmental solutions. He has also advised the UK Government on Offshore Wind and Carbon Capture & Storage.
As CEO of Envirobusiness Ltd, Alan worked with more than 200 early stage low carbon technology companies and was one of the leaders of the UK Government’s efforts in developing the offshore marine renewables supply chain.
As MD of UBS, Alan originated and led more than 50 capital raising and M&A transactions totalling more than £50 billion in value.
In August 2011, Alan founded TB Partners LLP – a boutique advisory business providing development and corporate finance advice to low carbon technology companies and renewable energy projects.
Alan holds an MA in Engineering Science from University of Oxford.
