Adrian Murrell serves as senior vice president of editorial imagery, overseeing the global editorial operations of news, sport and entertainment. Murrell manages a staff of world-class, highly experienced editors and award-winning photographers who capture defining moments and take photojournalism to the next level. Under his leadership, Getty
Images has flourished as an industry leader and played an instrumental role in revitalizing the photojournalism movement. Going forward, Murrell will continue to take Getty Images' editorial business to new heights while maintaining the high standards of quality and service our customers require. In addition, Murrell oversees the operation of Getty Images' London office, the company's second largest office.
Murrell has an extensive career in the photography industry. After studying photography at the Guilford College of Art & Design, Murrell joined Allsport in 1977 as a sport photographer. When Allsport was acquired by Getty Images in 1998, Murrell joined as UK joint managing director of Allsport and later became vice president operations, news and sport. Murrell was appointed senior vice president of editorial imagery in April 2008.
