Dr. Abdulwaheed’s vision is for “a world where healthcare and curative solutions are accessible to all”.
With Dr. Abdulwaheed as its founding member, Lux Dental Inc. was established in 2006. The practice has since expanded into Quincy, Cambridge, and Saugus Massachusetts. Currently he serves as the CEO and Chief of Oral Rehabilitation.
Lux
serves over fifteen thousand patients annually, and despite the detrimental cuts in Medicaid and Medicare benefits, it continues to provide care to the marginalized.
Recognizing the many constraints in healthcare, Dr. Abdulwaheed has been active in the development of innovative platforms to ameliorate challenges that have plagued medicine. In 2012 he founded the nonprofit “Cure All Foundation” to bridge the divide between patients and researchers. In 2011 he founded “Vita League Inc.” to improve collaboration among employers, healthcare seekers and local health related resources.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry, Master to the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow to the American Association of Hospital Dentists and Albert Schweitzer Fellow for Life. As an educator, he has lectured internationally and most recently to the "Leadership Conference" at Harvard.
Dr. Abdulwaheed serves as VP to the Massachusetts Dental Society and Vice Chair to the Massachusetts Dental Society PAC/ Peoples Committee.
He completed his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering-Biology and a Doctorate in Dental Medicine at Tufts. Residency/Fellowship in dentistry at Harvard Dental and Medical School - Brigham and Women’s Hospital. After commencement, he served as Associate Surgeon to the Hospital and clinical instructor for Harvard and Boston University.
Dr. Abdulwaheed earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston focusing on healthcare management and finance. Currently he is a candidate for a masters degree in finance at the university.
