Before venture, he built and scaled DebateIsland into the world’s largest debate-focused social network and EdTech platforms, reaching millions of users and serving students across more than 500 school districts, colleges, and universities.
DebateIsland also pioneered early applications of artificial intelligence in online debating through Debra, its proprietary AI system. Built in collaboration with early technologies from Google and IBM, DebateIsland’s AI could analyze argument structure and estimate users’ likely political affiliations or supported presidential candidates based on just a single argument. He also served as an early team member at Medality (acquired at Series B) and founded the media technology startup & publication, The American Post.
