Alvin Foo is currently the Head of New Technologies & Sustainability. He began his career with PSA as a mechanical engineer in 1998 and held several key managerial positions since then.
As Head of New Technologies & Sustainability, Alvin drives the strategizing, formulating and implementation of future ready technology capabilities for key
verticals in automated & autonomous equipment, smart infrastructure, smart engineering and integrated platforms as well as green and sustainable logistics solutions for PSA Singapore.
He is responsible in delivering key sustainability thrusts such as low carbon emission strategies, carbon credits framework & exchange for maritime industry as well as catalyse, test-bed and implement solutions leveraging on low carbon technology, energy optimisation and digitalisation capabilities. Sustainable business practices, sustainable procurement as well as circular economy will be amongst his key focus areas. He will also work with shipping and cargo solution providers to optimize processes and decarbonise the value chain, build domain expertise in key industry verticals as well as derive strategic sustainability collaborations to extract commercial value.
Alvin is also a key member of a cross-functional team within PSA that is designing a strategic roadmap to ensure its staff is future-ready to handle the increasing complexity in developing and managing a fully automated terminal.
Alvin holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering respectively from NUS and The University of Newcastle, Australia. He is also a certified productivity & innovation manager, and an IES Chartered Engineer in Port Engineering.
