Z2 is a mobile-first free-to-play game developer and publisher that allows players to compete and collaborate in real time through their iPhones or iPads.
It creates highly social games that promote free-to-play model. Z2 currently maintains studios and technology resources in Seattle, W.A. for building both mass-market social games along with
more traditional 3D multiplayer games.
The company's first product called Trade Nations, a city builder game, has created one of the largest game communities on mobile having logged over 500 million game sessions since its launch. Trade Nations has been recognized as one of the top grossing games on Apple's AppStore since launch. The company's second game, MetalStorm became one of the top ranked and top grossing games on iTunes within 3 days of launch.
Z2 has a community layer that supports the most advanced set of community features including in-game email, text chat, voice chat, real-time multiplayer, player icons, achievements, badges, and a full social graph that is integrated with Facebook and twitter.
Z2 was launched in 2009 by Damon Danieli, and David Bluhm and [Lou Fasulo] (https://www.crunchbase.com/person/lou-fasulo). Madrona Venture Group backed the company. Z2 developed four Top Grossing titles for mobile and was sold to King in 2015, which later became part of Activision Blizzard. It is headquartered in Seattle, W.A.
