Company Performance Metrics
WorldWinds has expertise in coupling atmospheric data to wind/wave and hydrodynamic models, having configured the US Navy’s COAMPS to provide mariners with a reliable forecast of conditions at sea via the XM radio satellite constellation. WorldWinds has conducted many MM5 simulations for applications that include global aviation and forcing
for NOAA’s WaveWatch III and the ACoE’s ADCIRC model. In-house 3-km WRF simulations supported local decision makers by providing wind data that forecasted BP spill oil movement from the Gulf of Mexico into bays and estuaries along the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coasts.
WorldWinds Inc., has operationally provided Oceanographic modeling and analysis data to customers for 12 years. Many of these products are available for use through WorldWinds’ partner, Baron Services. Some of the ocean products produced by WorldWinds include composite sea surface temperature analysis using MODIS Aqua and Terra satellite imagery several times daily, configuration and operation of WaveWatch III model, and high resolution chlorophyll concentration analysis.
