Wheaton College is a great choice for Christian students who want top-notch academics in a faith-based community. Christ is the center of student life at Wheaton, and the college offers many opportunities to share, grow and celebrate your faith. The academic environment is rigorous, however, and rooted in the liberal arts.
Though it offers a few
graduate programs, the focus of Wheaton’s academics is undergraduate study. The college offers about 35 majors, the most popular of which are Applied Health Science, English, Communication and Psychology.
Wheaton also has some unique undergraduate certificates, including Adventure Leadership Ministry, Christian Spirituality, Early Christian Studies and Youth Ministry. These programs are ideal if you’d like to include more spirituality in your education, but secular certificates like Military Science and Urban Studies are available, as well.
In addition to standard requirements like test scores and your high school transcript, the admissions process at Wheaton requires a pastoral recommendation. This recommendation can come from a current or former mature Christian educator in your life, such as a Bible study leader, pastor or other church official.
Financial aid opportunities at Wheaton are extensive. Need-based aid includes federal and institutional grants, student loans and work-study. Merit scholarships are also available to reduce the cost of tuition.
