Wandrio is more than just a game. We are building a global adventure platform. The core concept is simple: the world is divided into millions of square tiles. You collect these tiles by physically visiting their locations. Using GPS tracking, Wandrio records your journeys and marks the tiles you’ve captured. Over time, you build a personal map of
your travels, and contribute to a shared, worldwide database of exploration. You can also use other fitness trackers like Garmin, Polar or Suunto. You can also just connect your Strava account to Wandrio.
The idea was born from our own passion for tile hunting. For years, we have walked, cycled, skied, and even kayaked across different terrains, just to capture tiles in familiar areas in our neighbourhood or wandered into unknown territories. Wandrio turns this once niche hobby into a social, competitive, and collaborative experience accessible to anyone with a smartphone or GPS-enabled device.
Our mission is pretty simple. We want to see every tile on Earth collected. The challenge is immense, because earths surface is vast. Oceans cover roughly 70% of the globe, contain 187,904,819 tiles that are inaccessible without specialized watercraft. That leaves 80,530,637 land tiles. This is still quite a challenge, but we believe we can achieve it together.
To make this dream more tangible, we have set a concrete milestone. In 2026, our goal is to collect every single tile in Finland. There are 346,611 unique tiles in our country.
Soon, we will launch a global map within Wandrio, showing every tile that has been captured worldwide. This allows our users to see places where no-one has ever been before, and helps on planning new adventures.
We also record the username of the person who was there first. So you can become a real life explorer, putting your own flag in place and leaving your mark in the history.
Wandrio is for everyone. Taking part in our tile collecting challenge, can be as easy as taking a walk in your own neighbourhood or embarking on a multi-day expedition. You can also invite your friend and cover larger areas together.
By integrating Wandrio with your existing activity data from platforms like Strava or from your smartwatch, you can instantly add tiles from past adventures, giving you a head start in the game.
We will organize seasonal challenges, timed competitions, and special events to motivate you to keep exploring. These will encourage you to push beyond your comfort zone, discover new regions, and share your experience with the community.
In essence, Wandrio is about turning everyday movement into a meaningful journey. It’s about seeing the world not just as a series of destinations, but as a vast mosaic of places waiting to be discovered, one tile at a time.
