TheIturian is a nonprofit that develops and implements community initiatives for refugees, displaced persons, immigrants, women, youth and children. The organization collaborates with community-based groups to run programs in refugee settlements, displaced persons camps and host communities. Its work focuses on sexual and reproductive health and
rights education, support for pregnant girls and young mothers, counselling for child survivors of sexual violence and assistance for children facing malnutrition, genetic diseases and HIV/AIDS. TheIturian also offers guidance and counselling to new immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers to help them access secondary and post-secondary education and adapt to life in their new communities. Additional initiatives promote intergenerational dialogue to support peace, reconciliation and community resilience. The organization relies on donations, partnerships and volunteers to sustain these initiatives.
