The organization conducts and applies scientific research on salmon and steelhead ecology, hatchery impacts, and fisheries management. It engages in litigation and regulatory challenges
related to hatchery operations, water quality permits, and Endangered Species Act compliance. The Conservation Angler also develops technical analyses, comment letters, and petitions to influence agency decisions affecting wild fish. In addition, it provides education and communications aimed at anglers, conservation partners, and decision makers to build support for wild fish conservation. Through partnerships and coalition work, it contributes expertise to campaigns that seek to reform hatchery programs and protect critical habitats for wild salmonids.
