The Amicus Community provides therapeutic residential care and integrated education for vulnerable and traumatised children. The organisation operates children’s homes and a DfES-registered special educational needs school that delivers a therapeutic, trauma-informed curriculum for pupils with complex needs. Its therapeutic model is rooted in
psychoanalytic and group relations theory and underpins care, schooling, and placement planning. Beyond direct work with children, The Amicus Community offers outreach, training, and consultancy to professionals, families, and organisations working with traumatised children. These services include structured training programmes, clinical supervision, organisational consultation, and support with care and education practice. The organisation focuses on helping children develop healthier relationships, improve emotional regulation, and progress in their learning as part of a planned therapeutic journey.
