Company Performance Metrics
- Tom Price: Founder
Ten12 is an early stage fintech startup comprised mostly of ex-Markit Partners senior employees. Markit Partners was sold to IHS for $5.5B. Problem: The majority of an institutional investor's portfolio trades in the over the counter market if it trades at all. Each day we observe over 100,000 difference in how different investors value the
same over the counter traded security. These differences cause one fund to outperform another simply because it priced the same security higher. With even liquid high yield bonds, there can be up to 12% pricing difference. With private equity investment, the difference can be over 300%.
Solutions: Ten12 crowdsources financial data from institutional investors to create three solutions. PeerPrice is the investor consensus price for over the counter traded securities. 100% of the inputs into PeerPrice are investor security valuations that unlike broker quotes have a regulatory requirement for accuracy. PeerNAV is the value the fund's peers would place on its securities. With PeerNAV, there are no security pricing differences between funds as the same security is priced exactly the same across funds. PeerRank provides the first apples to apples comparison of fund performance as no fund outperforms another due to valuing the same security higher.
Opportunity: Over the counter security pricing and fund performance rankings are each a multi billion dollar industry.
