At present, most industries using composite materials resort to using Finite Element Simulations for computational product design. However, FEM is extremely time consuming and most often it does not allow design modifications at a later stage. Hence, companies have to resort to experimental work for design when composite materials are used as structural materials. This exponentially increases the associated costs.
