SWAT is the first compliant keyless crypto wallet for consumers.
Regulations require virtual asset service providers (VASPs) to treat transactions with other VASPs and transactions with users differently. Currently, the only way for an exchange to attest that a transaction is to or from a user is to give each user a
non-custodial wallet with known addresses. Compliant consumer wallets are a key component of a comprehensive AML program that demonstrates strong KYC, KYT, and Travel Rule processes.
SWAT is a keyless wallet using threshold signature technology. This is the ideal basis for a compliant consumer wallet because 1. As a key share holder, the exchange knows the wallet addresses without being a custodian. 2. The private keys are very difficult to steal, ensuring that the user alone controls the wallet addresses.
SWAT gives a VASP control over user address compliance. Research shows that up to 10% of deposits to exchanges come from user wallets and up to 35% of withdrawals from exchanges are to user wallets. SWAT works alongside existing Travel Rule solutions to help VASPs comply with the FinCEN Funds Travel Rule, FATF Travel Rule, 5AMLD, and FINMA Anti-Money Laundering Act.
